Sophany was born in in Cambodia and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She has over 9 years professional experience working with young adults at various NGOs. Her roles have included social work management, community development, education, vocational training, professional counseling and social enterprise business management. 

She started with EGBOK in 2016 as a Social Department Supervisor, later in 2018 she was promoted as Deputy Director in charge of the social and education departments. Recently, Sophany is the director of SPOONS Cambodia Organization and in charge of the overall management and operation of SPOONS Café and Restaurant. With the passion to fulfill the mission of providing quality education and decent job to underprivileged youth in Cambodia, she and a team of 17 Cambodian members stayed together to run the none-profit organization even during covid-19 while continuing the legacy of EGBOK Mission (the international charity) since 2009. To date, SPOONS Cambodia Organization has  helped more than 424 young adults launch their hospitality careers.
