Harnessing technology for a strong sector into the future is rapidly becoming mission critical. This mission can often seem mired with huge hurdles requiring ever new and different capabilities, approaches and always more investment. Yet, when new technologies are applied to social change initiatives we are able to both see this impact and to imagine the possibilities. This panel has been curated to discuss both examples of what our sector has already done to leverage technology to the benefit of those in greatest need, and what our organisations should be thinking about into the future. The panel will unravel the growing importance of technology in helping sustain a strong sector into the future, and what it means for us all.

Registration to vote in Nigeria required fingerprints, a condition that disenfranchised many people with leprosy and disability. A coalition of disability organisations lobbied the government for alternative requirements. Although this was successful, electoral officials feared going near people with leprosy so more steps were needed. This is the story of that change.
Join the Hon. Michael McCormack MP, Shadow Minister for International Development and Pacific, as he outlines the coalitions approach to aid and development in the region and engagement with NGOs and CSOs
