Bec lives on the lands of the Wardandi people on Noongar Boodja Country in the Southwest of Western Australia. Bec is currently the Straight Talk National Lead for Oxfam Australia. Straight Talk connects First Nations women into the political system and changemaking.  More than 800 women have completed the program and continue to build on their existing skills and knowledge to make change.  

Prior to Straight Talk, Bec co-ordinated the National Indigenous Governance Awards in Canberra, she has worked throughout the Northern Territory and Western Australia as well as internationally for the United Nations in Papua New Guinea. Bec spent more than a decade in Melbourne advocating for youth justice and women’s empowerment and holds a master’s in social science.
