Professional Bio
Renae Isaacs-Guthridge is a proud Noongar and Yamatji woman with matriarchal connections across each Nation. Renae has been privileged to witness the growth of the Kimberley Aboriginal Women’s Council (KAWC) for several years, and was honoured to be appointed an independent director in 2024. An experienced educator for over 25 years, Renae has worked in a variety of roles from primary to higher education contexts. Renae is employed as a lecturer at Kurongkurl Katitjin, Edith Cowan University’s (ECU) Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research, teaching Aboriginal Contexts in Education to undergraduate and postgraduate pre-service teachers. Renae holds qualifications in education and business, and is halfway through a PhD titled – Aboriginal student transition to university – a strengths-based approach.
