About Bernadette

Home in Place is an NGO operating for 39 years, delivering over 10,000 affordable and social housing in Australia and New Zealand. Bernadette’s PhD from UNSW Sydney explored who benefited from urban regeneration of public housing estates in Sydney. Her Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from Sydney University explored funding models for new green field housing developments on the fringe in Sydney. She is a member of the Pacific Urban Partnership. She has participated in Public Private Partnership transactions in Australia, PNG and NZ.

She is leading the international expansion of Home in Place to enable it to achieve its vision that:

“That everyone has the right to adequate and affordable housing and to live in sustainable communities”.
