Professional Bio

Chey is the Director or CAN DO, a consortium of nine church-based aid organisations collaborating to deliver international humanitarian and resilience programs through the Australian Government’s Australian Humanitarian Partnership. Chey is also an independent consultant, specialising in strategy design, organisational culture, program development, facilitation and professional development.
 
Chey has recently returned from Geneva where he was the Head of Operations for LWF World Service, a global international NGO working closely with the UNHCR on displacement and long-term reliance programs in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Chey spent ten years with Australian Lutheran World Service as Program Manager and Executive Director, with a particular focus on Papua New Guinea, Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Before his career in international aid and development, Chey was a high school teacher, and has an academic background in anthropology. Chey is an experienced Board member of national and international agencies and is a trusted facilitator of major global events.
