Professional Bio
Robert David Karoro is the National Coordinator for the Kiribati Climate Action Network, where he oversees the implementation of climate change adaptation and resilience projects in Kiribati. A passionate Banaban, he is dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and improving the resilience of his community against the impacts of climate change. In addition to his work in climate action, Robert serves as a member of the Establishment Committee for the Pacific Academy of Science (PAS), representing Micronesia. He also presented the Pacific Region for the Indigenous People Organization (IPO) to the UNFCCC Local Community & Indigenous People Platform (LCIPP) Facilitate Working Group (FWG)
Robert has also assisted the Office of the President with the Kiribati Integrated Vulnerability Assessment project, where he conducted community consultations in vulnerable communities throughout Kiribati. He is further involved in education as a teaching assistant for the University of the South Pacific, specializing in marine science and geography.
