Stephanie McGuire

Impact Officer - Seed Mob

Professional Bio

Stephanie is a proud Ballardong and Whadjuk Nyoongar community organiser and activist dedicated to transformative environmental, social, and political change. With a deep commitment to decolonisation, healing, and community building, she creates culturally safe and restorative spaces, events, and campaigns. Raised with a profound connection to Country, Stephanie learned from an early age about rehabilitating degraded land and practicing Nyoongar land management, including cultural burning.

Her activism experience is very diverse, from organising grassroots protests, such as the 2020 Black Lives Matter demonstrations in Boorloo, to coordinating Nyoongar community groups and projects aimed at community building and decolonising mental health. Currently in the role of Impact Campaigns Officer for Seed Mob, Australia’s first Indigenous youth climate network, Stephanie works to empower young mob to speak up and campaign for Country. Seed’s goal is to cultivate the next generation of First Nations leaders and Country protectors, ensuring their voices are central in the climate conversation.

At Seed Mob, Stephanie and the team champion climate justice and advocate for a just transition to renewable energy, with a strong belief in the importance of First Nations communities leading the way. Seed's approach to addressing climate change is layered, accessible, and culturally grounded, with intersectional justice at the core of their work. Seed firmly believe that there can be no climate justice without First Nations justice.
