Banasree Mitra Neogi is the development practitioner with over 33 years of experience. She focuses on promoting gender mainstreaming, combating violence against women, protecting women's human rights, climate change impact and advocating for human rights for marginalized and socially excluded individuals. At present, she is the Director of the Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF), a grant-making organization supporting the Human Rights and Governance work of organizations in Bangladesh since 2002. She played a significant role in advocating for the enactment and implementation of the Hindu Marriage Registration Act, Domestic Violence Prevention and Protection Act, and laws that support most marginalized communities in Bangladesh. Banasree is a dedicated Human Rights educator for the rights of the most marginalized individuals and is widely recognized as a champion of human rights and women's empowerment. She's leading a national campaign, Equality through Dignity, to change people's views on unpaid household and care work. She's also advocating for unaccounted work to be recognized in GDP policies.
